Function execution time

A project I'm working on is time-critical, thus I need to find out roughly how much time is required to ensure everything can be done in time. I've only just started to use Nios II IDE and am wondering if there's a way to find out how much time is required to run certain functions. I have a Nios II Cyclone board.
