Ethernet performance

Question

Hi guys,

i have a stratix II dev board and have to transfer a large amount of data over ethernet.

Has somebody tested to tx performance of the SMSC chip? In this forum i found

a threat with datarates using the LWip Stack. Are there experiences with other

stacks?

On the Cyclone (NIOS 1C20 dev kit) board with lwIP stack I have reached speed up to 1.2MByte per second (effective playload) through TCP protocol.

I did not check UDP BW, but i think it can reach 2-2.5MByte per second on the cyclone board.

Hi Major,  thx for your answer.   I have to tansmit ~5 MBbyte/s via UDP. I think LWip can&amp;#39;t offer the performance.  regards  revolt
