Errors while building the Linux Kernel

Hi, I am trying to build the Linux kernel following the quick start-up guide but always getting the following messages: c:/altera/kits/nios2/user.bashrc : No such file or directory ... ...

sri,

do a search for "Windows NT Patch for Linux on Nios II", download and install the patch ( on any windows flavour, XP included ). It should fix you problem if you start NIOSII IDE from SOPC builder.
