Error when download the linux image

what do you mean the "windows environment"?

what did you download the file with?

I downloaded the file with "nios II 8.1 command shell"

It was in windows environment already.

can you tell me something else in detail?

I got the same error.

I copied the gz file to windows, and downloaded from windows environment.

At least, it worked for me.
