epcs controller speed

After upgrading to Nios II Release 5.0 (from 1.1) the read access time for the epcs controller appears significantly slower -- about 5x slower. Did something change? Has anyone else observe...

I noticed the same thing. I just went from 4.1 to 5.0, and noticed the u-boot 'epcs info' feature was much slower. I believe the EPCS component HW & SW was changed in 4.2 to use less resources (register went from offset 0x400 to offset 0x200), but I didn't use 4.2 so I don't know if the slowdown coincided with this change.
