ecos with Nios Version 1.1

I want to install ecos with the free evaluation Nios II Embedded Processor Evaluation Tools Version 1.1

Ecos complains at installation ' You have not got the Nios II 1.01 kit. '

Does Ecos only work with older or licensed versions ?

I'm sorry. It seems that this is not the soultion.

But here is a working one:

    1. Open “version.ptf” in the root directory of your Nios II installation

    2. Change “number = "1.1" to “number = "1.01"

    3. Save the file

    4. Install eCos

    5. Reverse the changes in “version.ptf”

    6. Save it

    7. Finish

Unfortunately when starting nios2configtool (configtool.exe) Windows shows an error message that there is a problem with the execution.

The bad news is that doing this won't work. There are a number of changes required to get eCos working with version 1.1 of the kit. However a version of eCos which will work with the 1.1 kit is due to be released soon. Watch this space...

    Hello monkeyboy,

Many thanks for this news. I wonder how to uninstall a previous eCos version. Is it ok to overwrite it or do I have to delete the eCos directories by hand?

    Bye,

There's no harm in leaving an old install lying around, but if you want to get rid of it then it's safe to delete it by hand.

I could install Ecos but the nios2configtool dign't start, so it didn't work.

Today I took the new Ecos 'nios2ecos.exe' from 2005/01/27.

Now I can start the configtool.
