Customers with a current subscription typically receive their software updates a few weeks after the release (which to me would mean anytime now). You can also download Nios II 5.1 evaluation edition (no MicroC/OS-II RTOS) from the Altera website. As for eCos, we are working on internal testing to be sure everything is okay with Nios II 5.1; several small changes were made along with bug fixes from the Nios forum. Once some basic regression testing is done we will post it to the forum. I would like to say within the comnig week, but we'll see how the testing goes! If you have an urgent need for eCos for 5.1, please contact me personally and we can discuss!

Will you be putting the CVS repository online so we can track the changes more easily ?
Or better still, contributing the nios target changes to the main ecos repo. Robert. - Altera_Forum
