19 years agoThanks, Alan. Now about Quartus II v6.0. I only see the Web edition available for download. Can you point me to a URL for downloading non-Web v6.0?
-Dave --- Quote Start --- originally posted by alan@Jun 21 2006, 01:23 PM unfortunately, you cannot download the cpu component individually. currently the cpu component and the software development tools are bundled together. also, to install the nios ii v6.0 design suite you must first install quartus ii v6.0.
to your question about licensing: the "evaluation" edition cpu becomes a "full" edition if you have a valid license file. the only difference between "eval" and "full" is the lack of the microc/os-ii source code in the evaluation edition.
if you're curious whether or not you should install the 6.0 release, you can find out all of the changes in the nios ii eds v6.0 release notes (http://www.altera.com/literature/rn/rn_nios2eds_60.pdf).
