Debugging on NIOS II

Hello,

I'm trying to debug my code on a Nios II.

When I insert a breakpoint my code will not run.

I get a "cannot set breakpoint" error

When I try asm ("break") to insert:

The code will not load to the fpga. It stops at the Verify (verify failed at addr. ...)

Does any of you have some explanation for this behaviour or even better a solution?

Because I'm in completely in the dark...
