Configuring Eclipse

Does anyone know if it is possible to configure a standard Eclipse installation for Nios II developement (e.g. with Altera plugins, etc.)? I already have the latest Eclipse IDE / Cygwin installed for some other development projects and do not want to install another version for Nios II (unless I absolutely have to).
