Compact Flash problem

Hello Guys,

I am new to FPGAs and currently I am working on the project with compact flash. I am trying to use Altera IP core to make the CF works. however when I read IDE registers such as cyliner high/low, head register all values are 0xffff the board which I am using is Nios stratix 1s10. I was wondering if anyone can help me about that!! is there any tutorial for Compact flash IP core??
