Can't install vmware tool

Dear all,

first,i will thank to your help,my computer is xp os ,vmware 5.5,fadora 4,when i install vmware tool use the command vmware-install.pl then emerge the following information,and can't complete vmware tool

what is the location of the directory fo C header files that match you running kernal ?[/usr/src/linux/include]

help me ,thanks

    Maybe you need to install the gcc compiler first!
