Cannot connect to target

I am new to this forum.

I am using Nios II evaluation kit and following the user guide to run a helloworld program. I hasinstalled USB blaster driver on my WinXP (home edition) so I am able to connect to the target (using nios2-terminal), login and setup an IP address using DHCP.

This did last long.

The terminal program aborted a few minutes later indicating a I/O error. This problem very repeatable. I am also unable to use Nios IDE to programm the helloworld program on the target because it complains JTAG errors.

Any pointers would be welcome. Thanks.

Aaron

I have resolved the problem myself - 1. possibly a loose cable connection. 2. I forgot to program the FPGA chip before runing the helloworld program.

Well, first experience with Nios II not too bad...
