boot program

Hi!

i would like to write a small boot program to be run from the cyclon's ROM on startup

(i know about the boot looder but isn't what i need)

how can i do it ?

how can i make it run from the rom?

how can i save the program to the epcs, not overwriting the HW configuration already there?
