Board Desciption Editor work around

After making a board description in the BDE, you can no longer

"Generate" the system (it will produce several errors).

ericl gave the work-around by manually modifying the .ptf file of your board description. The problem is, I still can not "Generate" once I've made the manual modifications. I tried selecting a different target board, and then re-selecting the one I'm working with now - but I still get errors trying to Generate. Once I have made a board description the only way to successfully "Generate" the system again was to blow away the board description folder all together, chose a board other than "Unspecified Board", a different device family, and then go back to Unspecified Board and the proper device family!

I know I can run the flash programmer from the command-line but that's not working for me either (that will be a different thread!)

Any ideas?
