--- Quote Start --- see http://www.nioswiki.com/operatingsystems/uclinux (http://www.nioswiki.com/operatingsystems/uclinux) and http://www.nioswiki.com/installnios2linux (http://www.nioswiki.com/installnios2linux) Doing NIOS uCLinux development on a Windows PC is not possible. You need a decent Linux box. I don't know if colinux qualifies on that behalf. I did my first steps with Linux in a virtual box in XP and found compile times too slow for decent work, so I got myself a native Linux box (Suse). -Michael[/b] --- Quote End --- Hi Micheal, thanks for the reply. but I wanted to try once on windows Xp. i am struck up at downloading the nios2gcc tool chain. i am trying to download gc c tool chain using wget ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/nios2gcc-20080203.tar.bz2 (ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/nios2gcc-20080203.tar.bz2) command but the colinux environment is giving message resolving ftp.altera.com failed. I have set the colinux ethernet drivers ip address to my local internet address and the eth0 port is set to a address near to the colinux ethernet address. But still thye same message is getting displayed. in this regard i wnated to know if i can access windows environment files in linux environment. Regards, P.muralidhar
