Background information about SOPC builder

Hello,

For a presentation I would like to have some background information of Nios and SOPC builder. Especially the data flow when designing a system in the SOPC builder is interesting. What’s going up when clicking the “Generate†button in the SOPCB? Will the whole system be build up in VHDL/Verilog? Or are there some presynthesized components?

I didn’t find enough useable information about this topic. So perhaps someone could help me.
