Altera Max Plus II Verilog

Hi,

I'm an EE student and I'm trying to learn Verilog. I have a CD that came with one of my textbooks and it's got Verilog on it but when I write the example code from the book and go to compile it I get the message "Error: Current license file support does not include the 'Verilog Design Entry' application or feature." Can anyone give me some advice on what to do with this? Do I need to purchase something extra?? Thanks.

Max II Plus is an older Altera design software which has now been replaced by Quartus II. I suggest you to download Quartus 2 Web edition from Altera web page.

It's free of charge and supports verilog and vhdl design entry.

Thanks, I'll definitely try that. Hopefully that will fix things.
