Adding shell commands to IDE builds

Well, what I specifically need to do is call nios2-elf-objcopy whenever I do a build in the IDE. Is there a way to add this (or any) Nios Shell commands to the build process? I would like to avoid monkeying with the makefiles. I would prefer a way to do it in the IDE.
