AC97 sound support in uClinux

We are developing a custom board which shall run uClinux and

provide audio I/O. So I am investigating which audio chips are

natively supported by the NIOS port of uClinux to prevent driver

development.

I thought about the AC 97 core from opencores or an

Anlalog Devices audio codec.

Do you have any experience or can give me a few hints?
