21 years agoµKit Now Shipping! $295!
Hello all,
We are now shipping our µKit, a $295 Cyclone-based kit that comes with a preloaded 110MHz Nios II core and µClinux 2.6. The kit works with standard power supplies. An optional cable pack is available for only $99 that includes the power supply, ByteBlaster II cable, ethernet cables, and a loopback cable for the high speed serial ports. Once you get your µKit you need only download the free versions of Quartus Web Edition and the Nios II IDE from Altera's website. The kit includes a CD with the full µClinux 2.6 operating system and reference design. But, since the kit comes with the software loaded, you don't need to worry about building a kernel to start development. The µKit is available now for worldwide shipping, at our online store (http://www.microtronix.com/acatalog/products_with_choices.html), or click here (http://www.microtronix.com/product_microkit.htm) for more information. If you have any questions, just email me directly. Robert Microtronix3 Replies

Can the µKit be used for non µClinux based designs? I would like to get a Cyclone FPGA development board but the one from Altera is a bit pricey for my needs. This appears to have what I need but I want to make sure that the µClinux is not needed. I may end up using it later but.....
Thanks, Hartley - Altera_Forum

Yes, the uKit can be used for non-uClinux designs. It was designed with uClinux in mind, but it is not a requirement.
