XAUI RX not receiving all the words

Hi,

What does Arria 10GX Soft Xaui core's RX interface expect for control codes at the start and end of the frames? In my design I see that some of the words are getting dropped. Yet, I cannot trigger the signal tap to trigger on errdet. So I suspect, that the rate match fifo is not able to keep up? What else? Most likely, the RX is not seeing the correct sequence of control characters?
