VHDL updown counter on 16x2 lcd panal for Altera DE2

I need help on putting the updown counter to the LCD panal of the altera DE2. I did a program on a updown counter but i only know how to program it to the LED and its working. May i know how can i implement it on the LCD panal. Any advice or help is appreciated. thx, beginner here...

    Hello.

    You need to consult the datasheet of the LCD. Once you did that you must build a controller for the LCD. It's not so easy because you need to consider some signals delays.
