Using internal oscillator EPM240

Hi,

I would like to use the internal oscillator in EPM240. I understand that it is not precise, but nevertheless it is OK as I then can spare an external oscillator.

With the MegaWizard plug-in manager in Quartus the oscillator files are generated, which I have attached. I am seeking information how to include these in a design? Is it also possible to do it without the schematic editor, I would like to do it all in VHDL.

Thank you.

  • Just like any other IP, use the instantiation template and component declaration to instantiate the IP in your design. Edit the instantiation to make connections to the rest of your design. Then add the .qip file to your project files (Project menu -> Add/Remove files) or just put the files in your project directory and they will be added to the project automatically..
