15 years agoAltera has a comparison between Web and Subscription Editions:
http://www.altera.com/literature/po/ss_quartussevswe.pdf what i meant was the high end FPGA chips themselves (it says what devices are supported in the above pdf). the Quartus II Programmer stand alone application doesn't require any license, but i'm not sure that's actually the issue you're after. if you're using a licensed IP core (FFT, Nios II (non-/e) you won't be able to convert your time limited .sof into a file for a configuration device.
