University stand alone license

Hi,

We already have the web license. Is the University program license different than web license?

Do we have stand alone operation capability in University program license?

we need the license for stand alone operation and for the Flash programmer for serial programming and configuration storage of the FPGA. And wanted to know how can we procure that license?

Thanks,

Jessica

you might have to talk to Altera's University program.

that said the biggest limitation of Web Edition is that the high end parts aren't supported, so as long as you're not using those you'll be in good shape with Web Edition.

But does the Web Edition License support Stand-alone Flash programming? Because ours doesn't for some reason. Gives us a licensing error.

Can you help to elaborate on what you mean by high end parts? SOPC components or FPGA Chips altogether?

    Thanks a lot for clarifying

Altera has a comparison between Web and Subscription Editions:

    http://www.altera.com/literature/po/ss_quartussevswe.pdf

what i meant was the high end FPGA chips themselves (it says what devices are supported in the above pdf).

the Quartus II Programmer stand alone application doesn't require any license, but i'm not sure that's actually the issue you're after.

if you're using a licensed IP core (FFT, Nios II (non-/e) you won't be able to convert your time limited .sof into a file for a configuration device.

    Thanks thepancake, :)

hmmm.. I would actually like to know the following

    1) how to make my FPGA board completely stand-alone.

    2) I want my .sof files to not be .limitedtimeSOFs

    3) I also want to download my .sof files to the EPCS serial flash

    4) I also want my NiosII code to download to the EPCS seial flash

In all I want the complete application to be stand alone.

Can you please guide me on how to get that licensed version or Just the license file (Again for a fully stand-alone application - that goes in a system and is NOT plugged to a computer for any limit on time)

Is there any link for this application? Or I need to purchase the license?

Take note: this is for University program

    Thanks alot again
