Transceiver vs LVDS channel for cameralink

Hello, Can anyone describe difference between high speed transceivers vs LVDS channels? My problem now is that I want to connect camera (base configuration) with cammeralink interface to FPGA device (Cyclone 5 for example). I want to connect it directly, without external deserialisers. Do I need to use transceiver ports or does ordinary LVDS (1.5 gbps) channels are good enough for this application?

    Hi , If it is not high speed communication,Altera LVDS IP works fine. But with LVDS IO standard, we do not have any characterization data
