I'm trying to run the BoardTestSystem.exe program for a Stratix IV GX kit. Unfortunately, it complains that 9.1 must be the active version. I have already installed Quartus 10.0. Can I work around this? Must I install 9.1 to use the BoardTestSystem.exe? Can 9.1 even be found on the Altera.com site? Can I install 9.1 after 10.0 without messing up my 10.0 installation? Should I just give upon the board test and move on with my development? Thanks Cameron

i believe you'll need 9.1(sp2?) to use the kit. you can grab it here: https://www.altera.com/download/archives/arc-index.jsp its ok to have more than 1 version of Quartus II on the same machine. i expect this kit might get updated to 10.0

You can not use the Q10.0 with the GUI. The current active version has to be the 9.1 /sp1/sp2 Just start the Q9.1, then start the GUI again. The Kit should be included the full set of Quartus. If you can not find full Quartus, then try installing Stand alone Quartus Programmer. That should be equivalent.

I have a new install of Quartus II 9.1/sp2 running on a new install of 64-bit Windows 7, and get the same error when loading the Stratix IV dev kit's BoardTestSystem.exe. Starting Quartus II does not help. Precisely what is the BoardTestSystem.exe looking for to determine the current Quartus II version?

I do not think the BTS is supporting Win-7. As far as I recall, it only supports XP.

(I found just that link:

Meanwhile Quartus 10.1. is released. I can not switch back to 9.1 for using BTS.
Does anybody know if its possible to change the Quartus version numer (Environment variable or registry setting)?
