SRAM vs DDR3

Hello,

I have seen SRAM with max frequency of 250 MHz while DDR3 at 400 MHz (with Cyclone V Hard Memory Controller).

1) Without considering acces time, isn't DDR3 more fast than SRAM in general?

2) For replacing M20K memory blocks working at 200 MHz is 250 MHz SRAM right or pcb cause too delay to work at same speed?

This is far too general a question

M20ks have high bandwidth, but low capacity

SRAM is good for complete random access, but usually has low capacity (for an external ram)

DDR has massive capacity, but can be very slow if you want random access. For sequential access it has much higher bandwitdh

    So what is the application?
