    We were not properly managing tx_datain_valid signal for triple rate.

    The easyest way to do it is to drive tx_dataout_valid directly to that imput.

    Now we can switch between standarts perfectly.

For Cyclone V device, the SDI II IP do support triple-rate design.

Allow me to confirm with you below items:


Q1. Is your project based on design example?


Q2. If yes, did you generate the design in single-rate 3G or triple rate?

Triple-rate supports switching between 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI.


Based on your case description, it seems like you are generating single-rate 3G, which will cause switching to HD-SDI result in no display. You may generate a triple-rate design to support your project.
