Programming CPLD from processor

We are looking for option of programming CPLD through software without using jtag connector. We will have jtag during debug but for field programming we want CPLD should be programmable through processor.

Document "Chapter 14. Using Jam STAPL for ISP via Embedded Processor" mentions about two options about how we can program through embedded processor.

I would like to know details about first option in which we have to connect the embedded processor directly to the JTAG chain.
