12 years agoProblem with programming Cyclone V Dev kit with EPCQ
Hello everyone.
I have some problem programming my Cyclone V using EPCQ. I have Cyclone V E FPGA development kit with 5CEFA7F31I7N and EPCQ256. I can easily programm it with .sof file. However, when i try to use jic file, created from this .sof, i have an error "Can't recognize silicon ID for device 1". I've tried different position of switches like AS configuration cheme, FPP configuraton scheme, with and without MAX V FPGA (5M2210Z). The result is the same, programming failes on 87-88% and a get this error. Moreover, i can't even connect my board to Altera's Board Test System, because "java.lang.Exception: No USB Blaster detected". I've read forum and checked all connections, configuration settings and device options, but it didn't help. I thought that it mey be particulary board problemm, but i tried another one and shows same symptoms too. Can anyone help me with this problem? Or may be there is another way to programm FPGA? On this board i have flash memory, but i have not find the proper guide how to programm it. Thank you very much!2 Replies

Today i've tried to configure using FPP. And after a lot of problems, i finally downloaded my programm to flash memory (CFI 512 Mb), but when i restart my board nothing happens, FPGA does not download design from flash. Moreover, i found that for programming via EPCQ i need to rework two resisors, i did it, but the problem still here. I've tried everything, i dont know what to do. I need some way to save my design on board and when i power it up, this design must be downloaded in FPGA and started automatically.
I'm not very familiar with all features and i will appreciate any help. Thank you! - Altera_Forum
