no example projects for selected cpu

After erasing older cygwin1.dlls and verifying that my windows pathing to Quartus was correct, Nios no longer provides example projects for my sopcinfo file.

the same NIOS installation will produce example files for that cpu on other machines, so I suspect that I goofed up my pathing.

I don't want to uninstall and reinstall, so is there a way to rectify this situation?

    Launch a NIOS II Command Shell and execute the command "nios2-swexample-create --describeAll" Does it work or does it display an error?

    Now I can't even open the command window. I have decided to go ahead and re-install. I wish I did know what the pathing problem was though.
