Method to identify counterfeit FPGA Cyclones

Hello,

To support legacy applications, my company must purchase some of the original Cyclone chips (EP1C12Q240C6N). The only vendors are non-US however, and there is a concern that the chips may be counterfeit. Is there any method to test whether or not the chips are authentic besides fully building up the PCBA they are used in?

Thanks

    Hi boboneoone

We do not provide part marking verification in order to avoid the devices from grey market.
Intel PSG has its authorized distributor to sell Intel devices. If you got the devices from formal distributors, you shouldn’t worry on the device authenticity as the devices must be valid units. Otherwise, we do not ensure the device quality and do not provide the further service. You may find the authorized distributor list from the link below:

    Thanks.

      Hello Eng Wei,

I am also in a similar boat as the previous user. I would appreciate much help if you can help let me know if the markings or numbers are valid. I have attached pictures for your reference. Date code on these as told by the NON-US supplier is 2131 and bag seal date is July 31,2021.

      Thank you,
