MAX10DAF vs MAX10DCF Compatibility if not using the ADC

I have been using the MAX10DAFxxx parts but no longer need the ADC, therefore plan to migrate to the ..DCF... parts without the ADC.

It looks like these are pin compatible, when working through the pinout files.

Can anyone confirm if this is true, or are there any catches in there?

Thanks

Ian

  • Thanks Ash, I rebuilt for the DCF part but then realised it does not support initialisation from UFM for Ram on the compact device, so that kind of killed it for me. So I am back to the DAF part.

    Thanks for your help though.

    Hi Ian,

Cannot make a statement because the Quartus tool does not show the devices from these two families as available for cross-migration.

I quickly compared pinouts of 10m40da and 10m40dc devices, and it looks like the user IO pins may be compatible, but you have to carefully look into the supply pin differences and connect them as per the Pin Connection Guidelines.

    Regards.
