MAX EPM9400 - how to extract configuration / how to write configuration

Question

Hi to all, I am a newbe to world of CPLD/FPGAs and hope for some direction to how-to guides or direct instructions, including tools that may be necessary.

I want to extract the configuration of an existing programmed device, save that file. And then re-program another device with that saved configuration.

Both devices are MAX EPM9400RC208, and are both already soldered onto their PCBs

It can be readout through JTAG if the security bit isn't set.

As far as I'm aware of, MAX9000 hasn't been supported in any Quartus version. See also http://www.altera.com/support/devices/tools/altera/software/tls-altera-software.html

Industry standard JTAG tools that are aware of the MAX9000 ISP JTAG codes can also program the devices.
