interfacing a pcie daughter card to development board

Hello all, I am new here and I'm trying to find out if what I want to do is easy, hard or even possible.

I want to use an Altera FPGA development board (not yet purchased) to directly control an off the shelf PCIe card.

Is there a board that has a PCIe slot already built in?

If not does anyone know of an adapter to connect the PCIe card to any of the standard inputs on the FPGA board?

Then if I can connect to the PCIe card, is there a quick way to set up the interface? Something pre-defined and available from Altera or elsewhere?

As you can see I am just starting with this project any information or tips would be a big help.

Thanks!
