How to program ECPS64 with .rbf file?

We have a Cyclone V device using ECPS64 at start up. We use SRunner to load a .rpd file to program it. It works fine.

Now we want to try to encrypt the programming file. Following the AN556 doc, I generated .ekp and a .rbf. We can program the .ekp key file into the device with USB Blaster, but how do we load the .rbf into the ECPS64? I looked through the Convert Programming Files options and couldn't find anything.

Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hi,

To load an encrypted configuration to the Cyclone V via ECPS64, please follow these steps:

    1. Program the .ekp key file into the FPGA using USB Blaster.
    2. Use Quartus "Convert Programming Files" to generate an encrypted .rpd file (make sure encryption is enabled).
    3. Load the encrypted .rpd file into the ECPS64 using SRunner as usual.

On power-up, the FPGA will decrypt and configure itself using the key and encrypted bitstream.

    Regards,

    Fakhrul
