How to output 10G clock

Hello, i would like to transmit a 10G clock so as to use it as a trigger to another lab equipment through the fpga high speed transceivers. I tried sending "1010101010..." to a transmitters paral...

Hi evanchat,

Due to the 101010 data pattern, your frequency will be half'ed. Ideally to output 10GHz clock, you would need to transmitter 101010 data pattern at 20Gbps. As I understand it, you might need to use Stratix V GT to achieve this 20G data rate.
