help:about por by fpga-self

hi,

sorry for my poor english.

when we want to reconfigure the fpga using as model, we need a power-up, or a low to high jump of nconfig pin. now if the fpga can achieve the effects like a power-up by itself, and cause the reconfiguration process.

thanks!

    Sure can!

Take a look at the Remote Update section of the User Guides for the FPGA you are using.

There is a MegaWizard component that can do what you are looking to do.

As discussed in a different thread, a self-reconfiguration can be simply achieved by asserting NCONFIG from an FPGA open drain output.

    hi,

Avatar, can you tell me what the name of the magawizared component is.

and Fvm, you means an open drain output pin of fpga can control the nconfig pin of itself?

You should check the suggested trivial open drain method. We can continue the discussion if it doesn't work.

The Remote Update IP comes into play if alternative configurations (e. g. a factory or fall-back and a user configuration) are needed. Cause Cyclone 1 doesn't support a selection of multiple configurations from a configuration image (it misses the selection inputs), the MegaFunction is useless here.
