Help needed to develop a system. URGENT

Hi to all, I'm new.

I need a help to develop a system. I need to activate/desactivate some equipments from 3 or 4 infrared points. I will buy a remote control.

I have 11 equipments and 3 or 4 IR sensors ( at the moment I don't have nothing but I imagine what I need ). I will also need a fpga based board that read the stream emitted from the remote control and received from 1 of the IR sensors and depending of the code I activate or not ( a toggle to turn on/off ) the relative equipment.

Can I have a help to choose the correct components?
