help me in vhdl coding

I am facing problem in connecting 2 modules in vhdl, I am using altera quartus II software with its built in simulator, can any one help me to over come this problem.The situation is that i need to connect 2 routers of similar types, one module is working as my requirement now i need to connect several such modules(routers) to develop a protocol to send packets from one source to a destination can any one help me ...
