Hi guys

Im getting this error:

Error (209059): Can't communicate with device. Device will stop functioning when it reaches its non-tethered mode timeout limit.

I have a new Cyclone V GT that came with a one year subscription. ive had it for 3 weeks.

My design does have a nios ii f in it.

I would think that i would still have use of this license for another 11 months. maybe not?

CAUSE:

You programmed a device with an sram object file (.sof) (http://quartushelp.altera.com/14.0/mergedprojects/reference/glossary/def_sof.htm) containing a megafunction that supports the OpenCore Plus feature. However, the Programmer cannot communicate with the device. This error can occur when communication between the device and the Programmer is interrupted, for example, if the communications cable is disconnected or if power to the device is removed. The device will continue to function until it reaches its non-tethered mode timeout limit.

ACTION:

Make sure the Programmer can communicate with the device, for example, by making sure the communications cable is properly attached and the device has power, and then reprogram the device.

and that makes me think the cable is disconnected, but its not. and the leds blink according to my design. so it looks like the sof did get loaded.

the programming cable is still attached.

I tried changing to nios e, but then nios complains that it cant find a nios design and wont let me download my elf.

What can i do to fix this?
