Error (114005): Can't find database file ... .(0).cnf.cdb.wrk

i am new to quartus 13 at the 1st compilation stage i get the error message: "Error (114005): Can't find database file /My Documents/Verilog_Projects/addersubtractor/db/addersubtractor.(0).cnf.c...

try not working in a path with spaces in it?

if that doesn't help, remove the db directory and start a new compile from scratch (including Analysis and Synthesis)
