Difference Between quartus_tan & quartus_sta

Hi, Could any one explain me the exact difference between quartus_tan and quartus_sta comands. Which one should be used for the best results.... How do we differentiate these two command...

Thanks a lot for the reply...

But is there any performance difference between these two.... If so in what aspect they are different...

Moreover the _sta has the capability of taking input in the form of .sdc... Is this option available for _tan ?

Will it be good to use only _sta rather than _tan... as it is new and defenetly one could expect better results from it ...
