I required a pullup on both done and nstatus. The device would configure with just the 4.7K on the done line, but the nstatus was still "stuck" at ~0.9V.

Hmmm, diode drop? I'm curious, what is the voltage on the bank with the nstatus pin? How about the pull-up voltage on the done line?
