Altera does have a trispeed ethernet mac available, and an RGMII mac interface is available for the Cyclone II (according to the megawizard). They also provide IP for SDRAM. I'm not sure what's available for USB, I think there are some 3rd party USB cores available. You can find a lot of stuff here: http://www.altera.com/products/ip/ipm-index.html.

Altera's cores are available in the megawizard plugin manager, or you can get at various cores in Qsys.

    Cheers,

A lot of dev kits use the 88E1111. The phys should work just fine with that core, as long as the mac interface is supported, and RGMII is. If you're connecting this to a nios with an OS, you just need to be sure you have a supported driver. I'm sure there's one for the 88E1111, but I can't speak for the Micrel. There probably is support, and if not, you can write your own driver if necessary.
