Block vs Distributed RAM

What is Block RAM & Distributed RAM in FPGA ? What is the significance of both ?

I am using cyclone iv EP4CE55F23I8LN, so where i get the information about how much block ram & distributed ram it has ?

Also, how can i use this information ?
