If you looking for more advance features and advance IP, there will be no 1-1 drop in replacement and the pin allocations is different. We would like to recommend the latest technology of Stratix IV latest generation device, Stratix 10 FPGA (link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/details/fpga/stratix/10.html) or Agilex (link : https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/details/fpga/agilex.html)

while replacement for HardCopy (HC4GX35FF1517NAZ) is e-Asic (link : https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/details/asics/easics.html)
