Honored ContributorNo. You can't connect an LED directly to the pin in this way. Refer to the 'max v datasheet (https://www.altera.com/content/dam/altera-www/global/en_us/pdfs/literature/hb/max-v/mv51003.pdf)'. Absolute max on a pin is 4.6V let alone the recommended operating conditions of 3.6V max.
Use an external transistor or FET if you want to operate at 5V. Cheers, Alex
